Unfortunately, she prefers to argue passionately with her pompous fellow students, as David's languishing glances behind the counter notice. One day, David finds a tattered manuscript by an unknown author in an old flea market table, a romance novel on yellowed paper that makes him cry. Without further ado, he writes him off and gives him to read Marie. She is so enthusiastic about the book that she secretly sends it to a publisher to help the supposedly timid and humble David on the right track. And indeed: The stolen novel is a bestseller, agents, publishers and readers are tearing the new exceptional talentAnd Marie suddenly finds David no longer boring, but sexy and mysterious. David gets deeper and deeper into the well-organized PR mills of the fresh-meat-greedy book industry. But just as he begins to enjoy the hype around his person, A run-down guy (Henry Hübchen) appears who claims to be the true author of the book to be out of the drawer ...

With magical irony, "Lila, Lila" exposes the shoals of the literary scene, this muddy pool full of read-hungry crocodiles. Everything is just right in this movie event: The fast-paced novel by Martin Suter, the actors who act as fresh as if it were their movie debut, and the fine timing of the directorial production of Alain Gsponer - so funny, smart and engaging can be german cinema.
