Thomas Gottschalk: His Malibu estate fell victim to the flames
The huge fires that are currently raging in the US state of California have apparently also reduced the estate of German entertainer and presenter Thomas Gottschalk (68) to rubble. Gottschalk has already confirmed this tragic news to the "Bild" newspaper. He himself had just been in Munich at an event when the flames reached his house, but wife Thea had been there, it goes on to say.
Thea was evacuated along with the other residents of the upscale Malibu region. Meanwhile, she stays in a hotel in Los Angeles, and her cats have been taken to safety there. Almost exactly 20 years ago Gottschalk had bought the villa and brought it to fruition.
The devastating fires claimed, according to the latest information, at least 25 casualties. Among the thousands of evacuated residents are numerous stars such as Lady Gaga, Mark Hamill, Orlando Bloom, Martin Sheen or Alyssa Milano.
