This woman has lost a lot? thanks to new self-love and kickboxing

About ten years ago, at the beginning of 20, the path of suffering began for the American Kristin Hahlbohn: the young woman went to college, had to work at the same time for a living and had to fight even with depression. To this day she is not quite sure if there was a specific trigger for this depression? but once she was rejected by her crush, she lost all self-esteem.

Food as a consolation

Kristin found comfort in the meal, but only Due to the double burden of college and work, she lost every measure: "I've always been a Plus Size girl, but my weight exploded when I needed to balance college and the job," Kristin told the internet portal Love What Matters.

From good intent to eating disorder

After college, Kristin got a grip on her depression and was determined to lose weight, but quickly fell into one Vicious circle of binge eating and emotional eating. It was annoying at the end, but on the scales the pounds tumbled: In less than a year she lost about 59 kilos. But Kristin knew that her decline was not healthy. She was starving more and more from month to month, sometimes allowing only 500 to 600 calories a day.

For friends and family, she made excuses: "I just lied to her and said that I have already eaten or just not hungry." On a normal day, Kristin ate a small apple in the morning, skipped lunch, and ate a smoothie or a small piece of chicken in the evening. In addition, she regularly struggled in the gym.

Then came the first turnaround: "I felt constantly weak, and one day I fell unconscious from the treadmill." That was Kristin's wake up call. She confided in friends and her family. With her help, the young woman gradually learned to listen to her body and to love her the way he was. However, over time, this meant that all the weight she had lost came back.

Again at the beginning

Only a few years later, at 29 and now over 150 kilos, Kristin realized that she had to resume the fight against the weight again. She felt uncomfortable in her body: Instead of enjoying her life, she tried, for example, to hide in the background photos and dared nowhere where you would have to wear a swimsuit.

The second fight against the weight

But only when she ended a bad relationship in January 2017 did Kristin really find the strength to change her life again. This time with a plan: Not only did she begin to listen to her body, she also parted ways with people who did not do her good. Little by little, she transformed her everyday life: First, she renounced sweet lemonade, then sugary food. She generally ate healthier and eventually settled at around 1,700 calories a day.

But Kristin knew that she had to integrate more sports into her everyday life for a successful acceptance? after her collapse, she had given up the movement. At first, she only extended the walks with her dog, then she started to walk to work. Only when Kristin was sure that she had controlled her eating habits and gained a bit of self-confidence, She re-registered at the gym. Here she discovered her new love: kickboxing. "It was so much fun and at the same time the most intense workout I've ever done, I just love it!"

"I finally have the self-confidence to do the things I was previously afraid of because of my weight, losing weight has not only changed my body, it has also changed my view of life." With her story, Kristin wants to encourage other victims, To take the first step: "It's a tough road and you'll make mistakes, but do not give up, it's worth it!"
