The heaviest woman in the world is almost unrecognizable

Tragic background

In 2008, Mayra Rosales hit the headlines for the first time: After her two-year-old nephew died in her Texas home, she was considered a "half-ton killer" in the US media. It was said that the 34-year-old had accidentally crushed the boy with her obese body. In court, Mayra Rosales had initially filed a corresponding confession.

New life courage

Only later did the truth come to light. Little Eliseo had been mistreated by his mother, Mayra's sister, and died as a result. Mayra, who had already ended her life because of her heavy weight, had wanted to cover her sister with her testimony. After the acquittal in 2011, Mayra Rosales decided to finally act. With the support of a medical team, a strict diet and countless surgeries, she has managed to lose an incredible 380 kilos and make her life a decisive turn. In the meantime, Mayra has completed 11 operations, removing tumors and excess skin, as well as shrinking the stomach.

Currently brings the once heaviest woman in the world 90 kilos on the scales and fighting for custody of the other children of her sister? her biggest motivation!
