Study: That's how sex affects your day before

In the perfect world, we all love our job and look forward to it on Saturday that we finally get back on Monday. But the perfect world is not known. In reality, some people are reluctant to go to work, and even those who work in their jobs sometimes find it hard to motivate themselves. But it looks like there is a solution to this problem: sex!

Sex increases motivation in the job

In a US study first published in the Journal of Management, researchers looked at how workers' sex lives affect their job performance and motivation. Quick and dirty her result: Anyone who has a fulfilling sex life is more involved and more productive at work.

The study was carried out by scientists from the Oregan State University and the University of Washington, who interviewed a total of 159 affiliated employees over a period of two weeks to their sex and working life. The researchers found that respondents who claimed to have been sexually active the previous evening were always more enthusiastic and eager to work the next day than those who had previously been lethargic.

Sex important for work-life balance

"Having a healthy relationship and having a healthy sex life helps workers to stay happy and get involved in the job," study director Keith Leavitt said in an interview, "Sex has a positive impact on our social and emotional lives and should be important to one and all you should take your time. "

During sex, our body produces more dopamine and oxythocin, two messengers that make us, in short, in a good mood. Anyone who sleeps with their partner in the evening, according to Leavitt, can enjoy and benefit from the mood boosters the next day, for example at work.

"Focusing more on a well-balanced sex life should be a matter of mindfulness and self-care, and can even bring a career advantage," concludes Leavitt. And even if the Sunday night quickie does not turn us into a professional high-flyer: In the worst case, we'll just sleep a little happier afterwards.
