Sewing a loop scarf: I want it!

This winter they are an absolute must-have, the tube, wrap or loop scarves. They are available in many different colors and materials. Whether knitted, woven, sewn or crocheted, they are all super comfortable and practical. No shawls hanging in the mud or the question of the "knot", not too long and not too short? just perfect.

And for a quick and easy way to make a chic loop scarf, here's the guide for a plush, fleece lined reversible loop scarf in paisley look. So get to the sewing machine!

What you need for a loop scarf:

  • about 35 cm x 140 cm thick cotton fabric e.g. Baby Cord
  • approx. 35 cm x 140 cm fleece
  • 140 cm mini bobble band
  • yarn
  • Sewing needle and pins
  • sewing machine
  • Masking tape
  • scissors

How to sew the loop scarf:

Step 1: Cut out of each fabric a strip of 30 cm x 135 cm.

Step 2: Using the masking tape, stick the pom pom tape onto the top of the cotton fabric so that the pom poms face inwards. Between the pompoms and the edge of the fabric should still fit the sewing machine foot.

Step 3: Now sew the bobble tape on the cotton fabric with a short edge? so it is fixed for the next step. Keep the tape on, it prevents the pompons from getting under the needle when sewing.

Step 4: Both strips of fabric are now placed one on top of the other, the bobble tape stays in between. Now both long sides are sewn together. Leave about 1.5cm at the beginning and end of each seam to be able to sew the "short" ends together later.

Step 5: Now the whole turning so that the "nice" side can be seen without seam allowances.

Step 6: Step 6: Now the short sides are sewn. Lay paisley pattern on paisley pattern and start sewing in the middle of the strip. About the seam to the fleece, then fleece on fleece always around (the "beautiful" pages are always on each other). It will be pretty tight at some point, then you should stop at the latest, so that there is still enough hole to turn.

Step 7: At the end, only the less beautiful end has to be put inside and the small opening sewn by hand.
