Actually, I do not fit at all in this large estate on the outskirts of Oberstdorf - where nothing separates cow pastures and a bombastic alpine panorama. I am at least 20 years younger than the average age. And so one thing is guaranteed: total peace.
Over the fact that the device for my taste is actually much too solid, I look away and look from my balcony on the great mountains. And then it starts immediately with the booked applications: At the beginning I will be covered with high quality Allgäu hay and then wrapped thick in a blanket. What pokes at first gets warmer and cozier by the minute - and in the end I am so pleasantly dizzy from the special hay of the high pastures that I spend the rest of the evening walking through the long corridors in a trance.
It is over by the next morning at the latest, as I am still sleepily drifting into the Kneipp area. First lull me with warm water, which lays out of a hose like a cloak around my arms and legs. But then: ice cold mountain water. And the whole thing again from the beginning. Finally barefoot over the wet, morning cold meadow.
"They are early today," says the waitress at breakfast. Early and already fit. And addicted to the pleasant tingling after each cold-warm change. So again Kneipp: this time changing baths for the calves.
Sweat again, this time in a fango pack. At the final Fussossexzonenmassage I realize what is special about this house. The masseuse presses in my big toe and asks if my sinuses are sometimes tight. Right. Pressure on the sole of the foot, "nervous stomach?". Right, too.
Most people come here for at least a week, they are thoroughly checked by doctors and physiotherapists and spoiled at the same time. So I simply strengthened my immune system preventively. And can not decide after all the sparkling change baths on the way back in the train, whether I am warm or cold.
