Roman Polanski: Oscar Academy: Director wants to fight against exclusion

Not so - finds the French-Polish director Roman Polanski (84)! After the Oscar Academy voted in favor of his expulsion on May 1 and informed him in writing on May 3, he actually defended himself. Already at the end of last week, his lawyer Harland Braun announced that he would try to appeal the decision of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. "We want a fair process," Braun continues. "That's not too much to ask from the Academy, is it?"

Now, the lawyer's letter has been sent to Academy President Cameraman John Bailey (75) and apparently leaked to "TMZ.com". The US portal quotes that the Academy wronged the director by banning him along with disgraced Bill Cosby (80) without personally listening to Polanski.

That the Supreme Council both simultaneously excluded as members, "vanityfair.com" had previously reported. This should be enough to meet the organization's new standards of behavior. Cosby had recently been convicted of severe sexual assault. And against Polanski is determined for nearly 40 years because of different sexual offenses.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is committed to advancing the film industry. But she is mainly known for the Oscars. Members are personalities who are particularly committed to film art and have used it. At present, it is made up of more than 7000 members.
