Pussy Hat: That's how you knit the pink hat from Women's March!

The Pussyhat Project wanted to make a well visible sign with their caps at the Women's March in Washington D.C. put. The motto: "The better one sees us, the better one hears us." It succeeded: A sea of pink hats pulled through the city and made for a really good mood!

Pussy hat knitting herself? That's how it's done:

You want a cap like that? No problem. We'll show you how to easily knit the "Pussy Hat" yourself. The super fast pink version will be ready in two hours and will only be knitted on the crotch. The slightly more elaborate pink cap needs only slightly longer. She too is only knitted on the crotch right.

1. Knit pink hat (super fast)

You need:

100 g pink wool (No. 22 wool from Rico, quality "Super Chunky" LL 100m / 100g)
Knitting needles 8-10
thick crochet hook

So you knit the pink cap:

Pattern: Kraus right (front right, back right)

Knitting tension: With needles 8-10 in the basic pattern 11 M in width and 22 R in height = 10 cm

How to do it:

Cast on 25 stitches and knit in the basic pattern until the wool is exhausted (about 58 cm). Bind off the sts.

Half the knitting piece and crochet with the crochet hook at the top and side.

2. Knit pink cap (fast)

You need:

Approximately 100 g of thin wool in pink, here a thread alpaca and a thread thin mohair were knitted together
Knitting needles 5
Sewing needles without lace

So you knit the pink cap:

Pattern: Kraus right (front right, back right)

Knitting tension: With needles 5 in the basic pattern 15 M in width and 28 M in height = 10 cm

How to do it:

Cast on 72 sts + 2 edge sts and knit 10 cm in Rib (2 sts 2 M li). Then knit in the basic pattern. After about 23 cm bind off the sts.

Half the knitting piece. Sew on the side and top together.
