Since his well-earned retirement, police chief Horst Krause (Carsten-Maja Antoni) and his sister Elsa (Carmen-Maja Antoni) are taking care of the inn in Brandenburg's Schönhorst. It would be all right if Elsa were not so forgetful all of a sudden. A burning pan in the kitchen even gets the fire department on the scene. Krause is very worried about Elsa. What should become of the inn without her?

Zeki Müller (Elyas M'Barek), now a teacher at the Goethe comprehensive school, is ready for vacation, because getting up early, correcting class work and annoying teenagers are not at all his thing. In a moment of carelessness it comes to disaster: Lotte disappears from her stroller and Elena flees head over heels to Greece. The parents are desperate. To find Elena and find out what happened to her daughter, Tessa travels to Athens.

Top agent Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) has a new goal: The cunning terrorist Cobalt (Michael Nyqvist) apparently forges concrete plans for the nuclear destruction of the world. However, to expose his secret identity, Ethan's IMF team must break into the Kremlin's high-security archives. The already extremely risky action turns out to be a perfidious case: Cobalt sets with a bomb not only half the Red Square to rubble and ashes - the blame he pushes even Ethan's troupe in the shoes.
