NEVER accept these Facebook requests from good friends

Let's become Facebook friends!

Actually we are usually happy about a friend request on Facebook. A new, interesting person seeks contact and wants to network - or maybe a good acquaintance has finally found a way to contact us after many years. But especially with friend requests from people you personally know well threatens the greatest danger!

That's how you recognize the hacker attack!

If you are short on the request and "But we are actually already friends" think, you must be careful! Because the hackers pounce on foreign profiles, and then create with copied photo and the same name a fake profile - with which they contact you. Most of us do not look any further, but suspect that the contact between us has made friends in between - perhaps accidentally or after a dispute. In any case, at first glance, no big deal, so the wrong friend request is promptly confirmed.

What happens after the accepted hacker request?

Then, after a short while, your "girlfriend" will call you in the messenger and asks, casually, if you could send her your cell phone number. Fortunately, the question is usually in bumpy German or grueling English - but it is foreseeable that this demand will soon appear just as unsuspicious as the previous friend request. If you pass the number out, the hackers have good laughs: they now have your mobile number and access to all the private information you share with friends on Facebook - from your contacts to children's and family photos!

That's how you can protect yourself!

If you've already fallen for the trick, do not panic! Under no circumstances answer the question from your "friend" about your mobile number when she answers. And: Get rid of the fake contact as soon as possible - then the hackers will no longer have access to your profile. It is best, of course, not to confirm the request. Therefore: If a good friend suddenly wants to network on Facebook, check immediately if you're not already friends. In case of an emergency you will immediately see that you are still connected - and you can ignore the brazen hacker request quite casually.
