Lisa Marie Presley: The Elvis daughter talks about her drug addiction

She almost had the same fate as her father: Lisa Marie Presley (50, "Storm & Grace") revealed in an interview that she has had severe drug problems in the past. Talking to presenter Jenna Bush Hager, 36, she told the Today show that her life was dominated by her addiction five years ago.

"I was not happy, the fight against addiction started at age 45. It has not taken place all my life," said music legend Elvis Presley's daughter. The King of Rock'n'Roll died in August 1977 at the age of 42 years of heart failure - the result of his drug addiction.

Today she is proud of herself, said the 50-year-old. "I've really come a long way, I have a therapist and she's not just saying, you're a miracle, that's you really, 'but also, I do not know how you can still be alive."

She knew she was not perfect, Presley said. But it is important that you learn from his mistakes. And then you have to help others with their problems.
