Lenormand Interpretation: Variations on the subject of maps

The cards of Mlle Lenormand are available today in a variety of designs. The numerical value and the symbolic picture motif appear on them in any case, the latter like drawn in the Biedermeier style of the first card editions, but also in more modern interpretations.

Often as a small card in the map also the corresponding leaf in the French colors heart, cross, spades or diamonds added, so you can use the Lenormand as a skat card oracle. So corresponds to the Lenormand fox z. For example, the Nine Cross in the Skat Sheet, the Lenormand Casket of Nine, and the Lenormand Serpent of the Cross Lady.

In other editions, instead of the skat cards or next to them, short rhyming verses appear, supplementing a small guide to the interpretation of the map. The so-called Lenormand flashcards even systematically list what this card is? in general, for love, for professional or health issues? has to mean whether it is to be assessed as positive or negative and whether its prognosis applies in the short or long term.

How do I properly set up Lenormand cards?

In principle, you can use the Lenormand cards just as well as the Tarot cards: From an edition of your choice, you can draw a day card as a short-term forecast, but you can also ask your Lenormands as a Celtic cross, as a love oracle or any other placement system.

However, they are particularly well suited for the so-called "Grand Chalkboard", the classic fortune-telling method in card making. For this you mix the 36 cards and then put them completely in four rows of nine cards. The closer to you (as the questioner, ie the "lady", card no. 29), the more cards your messages have for your current situation. In the overall picture, the cards complement or relativise each other's meaning. If, for example, a negative card such as the "Sense" (No.10) is in direct proximity to the "Lucky Clover" (No. 2), the traditional alternative is the traditional Lenormand saying: "Cloverleaf alone, includes the joy. Are clouds floating around, turning to suffering? " Have fun with the interpretation of the entire map!
