Lawn care in autumn: mow and scarify the lawn

The lawn should be mowed as long as the ground temperature is still over nine degrees. From this temperature, the lawn stops growing. Make sure not to mow the lawn the last time, otherwise frost can attack the ground more easily. For a normal lawn in the garden, a cutting height of three to four centimeters is recommended.
You can scarify the lawn until the beginning of November. This frees the soil from weeds, plants and moss and removes dead grass. The scarifying of the lawn is not necessarily required in the fall, as it is more important in the spring to remove the lawn felt. So check with a spade if there is a felt layer (more than 5 mm).

Lawn care in autumn: sow grass in bare areas
