Knit cardigan from mohair wool
Instructions for a cardigan made of mohair wool in size S / M / L
Material: 250/300/350 g Yellow Fb 3 "Garzato Fleece" (70% alpaca, 30% polyamide, length 225 m / 50 g) by Lana Grossa. Knitting needles No. 7 (if you knit loosely) or 8 (if you knit tight - it is important that you come to the information in the stitch).
Note: It is possible that the given wool can not be bought anymore. In this case, you are looking for a similar quality. Please note the specified run length and do a stitch test!
Kraus right (KR): Back and forth rows right M.
Smooth right (GR): Knit front right M, back left sts.
Mesh test (GR): 13 M x 16 R = 10 x 10 cm.
Back: Cast on 86/91/96 sts and knit in KR 6 R, continue to knit in GR. Work 49/48/47 cm from both sides on every other row = 7/8 sts = 100/105/110 sts, continue to knit 11/12/13 cm over all sts, then both sides for shoulders in each 2nd row 1x2 Cast off 6x3 + 5x4 / 6x3 + 6x4 / 4x3 + 8x4 sts, then bind off the remaining 20/21/22 sts.
Left front: Cast on 33/35/37 sts and knit in KR 6 R, continue to knit in GR. When piece measures 49/48/47 cm inc 1 st on each side, increase R 7 x 1 st = 40/42/44 sts, continue to work 11/12/13 cm over all sts, then on right side shoulder like bevel at the back.
Right front: Knit the same way as the left front piece.
Sleeve: Knit 28/31/34 sts each in KR 6 R, continue knitting in GR. Cast off every st from every stitch 35 cm.
elaboration: Close the shoulder seams. For the shawl collar, pick up 212 sts at the entire front edge and the back neckline and knit 20 cm in the GR, then knit 6 R in the KR, then bind off all sts. Close the side and sleeve seams. Sew in the sleeves.
