Helena Christensen has made herself scarce. The Danish-born, who celebrates her 50th birthday on the 25th of December, was the absolute top model in the 1990s and now avoids the bright spotlight. She is by no means camera shy. The "most beautiful body in the world", as Gianni Versace once dubbed it, shows Christensen still openly and happily on her Instagram page. It used to be a little different in the old days.
Already at the age of nine, Christensen got her first modeling job. Eight years later, the daughter of a Danish and a Peruvian was named Miss Denmark and then joined the Miss Universe election. Although she could not finish in the beauty pageant, she decided: I'm going to become a model. Christensen moved to Paris, was discovered and launched a career that many today's beauty can only dream of.

After first photo shoots for fashion magazines such as "Elle" and "Vogue", the Dane made a big breakthrough with her commitment to a music video. In 1990, she starred in the "most erotic video of all time," as it was called back then. In the clip to Chris Isaak's (62) "Wicked Game", the model lolled on the sandy beach of Hawaii - follow-up orders were not long in coming.

Established as a model, the today 50-year-old tried for a short time in the film business. Since 2006 she also runs the fashion and antique business "Butik Christensen & Sigersen" in New York. Besides, she is still working as a photographer.
