Depression and alcohol addiction
Because of depression, her mother Gundi regularly took to the bottle. And as a result of the alcohol addiction, her mother was losing more and more in the eyes of her daughter. At the age of eleven, Bott realized for the first time that something was wrong.
"For a long time, I thought alcohol was the problem, and I did not realize it was a long way back in the desperate chain of a person who has to live with depression," the actress says.
She had to take responsibility early
When her mother was overwhelmed with the household, the daughter took over the helm. Sometimes she also dumped alcohol to "conceal" her mommy's addiction, she says.
Impressive: Despite this difficult time Bott was never angry with her mother. "I always took my mother as she was," says the 40-year-old. Mother Gundi had also made every effort to get well, and made several therapeutic attempts? but unfortunately without success.
At the age of 51, Nina Botts mother died. Her date of death fell just on the 27th birthday of the actress.
The fact that Bott has not been beaten down by this difficult time and that she has such a great grip on her life as an actress and mother is simply admirable.
