Gucci or Yeezy ?: Kanye West's label is especially popular here
Do people go shopping differently in Munich than in Hamburg? And which brands are particularly popular with German online buyers? A shopping analysis of the fashion search engine Lyst has examined the fashion buying behavior in Germany and thereby made some amazing discovery.
Where do men spend more money than women?
For example, Dresden, Frankfurt and Cologne are the only cities where men spend more than women on average. In the remaining twelve analyzed cities women pay more for their fashion orders than men - just as the cliché wants. On average, the female population can order their orders 72 euros more. The gap in Dortmund widens the furthest apart: women spend around 266 euros more than men in fashion.
In general, the people in Frankfurt spend the most on fashion with an average of 367 euros, while the online shoppers in Essen invest 229 euros least in their wardrobe.
Bavaria, Hamburg, Berlin - where are the differences?
From state to state there are also big differences in the popularity of certain brands. While women in Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg prefer the luxury label Gucci, the rest of Germany's female population can not easily agree on a brand. In Berlin, for example, Balenciaga is at the front, in Bremen Prada, in Hamburg Off-White and in Saxony Kanye West's label Yeezy. For men, three federal states can agree on the label Off-White, namely Brandenburg, Lower Saxony and North Rhine-Westphalia.
It is funny to also take a look at the most wanted fashion categories in the federal states. In Bavaria, for example, women preferred to look for knitwear, men prefer backpacks, whereas in Hamburg women's shoes and men's caps seem to be in high demand. Unusually, the gentlemen in Hesse most often searched for cufflinks, while the women in Saxony-Anhalt searched for slides (ie mules).
