"Five of the staffs": What does the tarot card show?
At first glance, a fierce fight can be seen on the tarot card: Five young men, each with a solid stick in his hand, seem to be fighting each other and fighting their weapons, the staffs, belligerently.
But do they really do that? Look into their faces once. There is little aggression to see: Three of the gentlemen who keep their staffs at an angle, look more thoughtful? and the young man on the left, who is holding his staff in the air, even looks at his opponent with great enthusiasm; as if he just had a great idea that he absolutely wants to share with others.
So here there is no real conflict; not even a merry romp between friends. Rather, the five play together a game in which it depends on the coordination of their staffs; a kind of oversized Mikado, for example. Or maybe they are just starting to build a house together and are still discussing the statics of the basic structure?
Teamwork is the actual topic of this card? and individuality is required! The five men do not wear a uniform uniform that indicates they need to pull together. On the contrary, everyone has their own personal outfit: What the blue-and-white dotted gentleman can contribute to the joint work is something quite different from what the red-dressed man with the bold hat brings in. Everyone has different strengths and talents, and only when everyone uses their own personal qualities does the common work become good.
