"Wrapping paper" and its history
Actually, the answer has been there for over 120 years. Because the inventor of the Klopapiers, the New Yorker businessman Seth Wheller, already clearly showed with the patenting, how the role has to hang. Wheller also made sure we could use the fine-perforated dividing line to easily tear off handy, square pieces from the rest of the roll. He called his idea then, however, "wrapping paper"? What exactly he thought, we will not explain at this point, however.
The Germans and their toilet paper
In any case, the Germans are enthusiastic toilet paper buyers: According to Stiftung Warentest, they spend more than one billion euros a year on the right role. The paper should be soft and absorbent, but at the same time not too thick or even tear. Whether these requirements can actually be met, tested product testing on the basis of 27 different types of toilet paper. For this, 400 people went to the quiet village with the scrolls and tested the paper under "real conditions". After that, the paper had to prove itself in the lab. The result: Our toilet paper is on the whole quite trustworthy. Most of the varieties performed well, three products even very good and only five got the grade satisfying.
