Emilia Clarke: Shattering images of life-threatening cerebral hemorrhage

Only a few days left, then starts the eighth season of "Game of Thrones" worldwide. While the serial disciples are impatiently waiting for news from Westeros, "GoT" star Emilia Clarke (32) uses the time to talk about her two brain aneurysms. It was not until the end of March that the 32-year-old told her fans that she almost died twice during filming.

In an interview with "CBS Sunday Morning," Dani, as Clarke is often referred to in the series, now talked about how this near-death experience affected her psyche. She had been through a difficult time the first time, she said.

"But the second time I found it much harder not to lose heart," Clarke admitted. At the second aneurysm, part of her brain died, the actress explained. "And they [the doctors, editor's note] did not know which part," continues Clarke.

"A deep-seated paranoia"

She was afraid that she had lost her acting skills. "That was a deep-seated paranoia, from the first time." Acting was "for a very long time my reason to live," said the 32-year-old. Today Clarke laughs: "I always say I've lost my men's taste," she joked.

The Briton could draw strength from her role as Daenerys Targaryen. "You go to the set and play a tough character and run through the fire, which helped me in the end, not constantly thinking of my own mortality," she explained.
