Downtown Abbey: Even Maggie Smith is to be seen on the big screen

In December 2015, the last episode of the British hit series "Downtown Abbey" flickered on the TV screens. Then it was quiet for a long time. But after more than two years of radio silence, the aristocratic Crawley family is back again: there will be a movie! The reports now at least the US magazine "People". A surprise for many fans, the 83-year-old had still said after the series-out that a sequel would drag the story unnecessarily long. She also said: If her character really comes back to the countess and widow Lady Violet Crawley, then probably only on her deathbed. What role Smith will play in the planned movie is not yet known. So far, it has only been confirmed on Twitter that filming will begin this summer.

One is missing in the movie

While alongside Maggie Smith also Joanne Froggatt (37), Michelle Dockery (36) and Hugh Bonneville (54) on the feature film project will work, the fans of Lily James (29) have to say goodbye.
