Doctor condemned for abortion advertising? the reasoning hits us all

The punishment is not the world: 40 daily rates of 150 euros, makes a total of 6000 euros. According to trial observers, the Gießen district court has fully complied with the demands of the prosecutor in the case of Kristina Hänel.

The physician was convicted for listing "abortion" on her website along with other medical benefits and providing information about the procedure. In doing so, according to the judgment of the court, it has violated section 219a of our Criminal Code. Accordingly, it is considered a crime to offer abortions in public, if it can draw an economic advantage, that is, for "advertising". (More information about the trial and the abortion law can be found here.)

The verdict shows that the law is an insult to all women

The verdict is one thing. The law has been in our penal code since 1933, so it's a Nazi law. No wonder when it comes to judgments that make no sense. If our world evolves, but does not properly engage the laws, what should a court do nicely?

By giving justice to the prosecution, Judge Maddalena Fouladfar has pointed out an instance of maladministration in our criminal code.

But with its ruling, the judge has made it clear that this law is not just outdated, because suddenly the Internet has come and women now wear pants. This law is based on a human image that is insulting and downgrading for us ? especially for women but also for men.

Verdict: Women can not handle information

As stated in the verdict: "The legislature does not want that discussed about abortion in public as if it were a normal thing." Paragraph 219a serves the protection of unborn life, and "it is behind it - and that is the will of the legislator - the universal right of information for women."

Please what? Does the legislature really believe that education and information makes us heartless and unscrupulous? Does the legislator seriously believe that he needs to protect unborn life by making it as difficult as possible for women to find out which doctor to go to, what to expect in the procedure, and perhaps not all alone?

It seems like a ridiculous mockery to live in a world where Donald Trump sits at the pinnacle of the atomic bomb, while our criminal code does not even trust women and doctors to handle information responsibly.

Supposed: We are either stupid or heartless

The assumption that women make it easy to decide to have a pregnancy abortion and that we would all be discussing it like an appendectomy inevitably suggests that we are either fundamentally stupid or callous.

Legally, a pregnant woman who plays with the idea of an abortion, almost treated as a suicide threat? only that one admits openly, not to protect YOU, but her unborn life.

Embassy arrived - at SPD, Greens, Left and FDP

The judge has already made it clear with her judgment, but in the explanatory statement she once again formulated it in such a way that it should itself understand a honk:

Our abortion law needs to be reformed. For SPD, Greens and Left, the message has apparently arrived: All three parties have spoken out in favor of the abolition of paragraph 219a. The FDP also saw the need for reform.

The CDU / CSU responded more subdued. She worried that a termination of pregnancy could be downplayed, quoted the Berliner Morgenpost Elisabeth Winkelmeier-Becker, the spokeswoman for the political group of the Union.

And Kristina Hänel? Will continue to fight for freedom of information! Her lawyer also announced that she was going to appeal against the verdict.

Here is her petition.
