Bed whispers: Talking in bed

The bed is not just for sleeping, that much is clear. But most couples use the time before falling asleep especially for talking. It is about personal problems, family matters, everyday life, weekend and vacation planning or even about the future together. But of course also to seduce the partner with words.

Yet 56 percent of men still use a well-known strategy and tell their partner how beautiful she is to get her in the mood. Conversely, only one in three women compliments their partner: women prefer to express what they would like to do with him. But to reveal their most secret desires - even in the dark, only 4 percent of women and men are ready. In any case, these are the findings of a representative survey by the social research institute forsa, which looked through the keyholes of German bedrooms on behalf of the Cora publishing house.

Unsurprisingly, the realization that in bed sometimes should think well what to say: well, half of all respondents is "angry" when asked during sex, "Will that be something today?". Also the question "Do you have another one?" disturb the lovemaking "sensitive", so the study. Equally annoyed are women when their partner wants to know afterwards "as he was".

But of course it's not just about sex and planning your holiday in bed, it's also about everyday life. 52 percent ask the others how their day was, 49 percent talk about the job and 35 percent gossip about friends and acquaintances. And almost every third of the 1,000 women and men interviewed uses the bed to discuss money and purchases with their partner. If the topics become uncomfortable, 51 percent resort to the obvious excuse and claim to be suddenly dead tired. However, when it comes to getting married, everyone involved is awake again: 80 percent of men and women consider the bed a good place to make a marriage proposal.
