A gingerbread house as a Christmas decoration

You need:

  • 200 grams of honey
  • 75 grams of butter
  • 100 grams of sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 packet gingerbread spice
  • 1/2 pinch of salt
  • 400 grams of flour
  • 2 teaspoons of baking soda
  • 15 grams of cocoa
  • Icing sugar for gluing
  • Flour for the work surface
  • Paper, pen, ruler for the stencils
  • a sharp knife to cut out the shapes
  • Pearls, hearts for decoration
  • Stencils (available for download at www.tastesheriff.com)

That's how it's done:

?1. Melt the honey, butter and sugar in a saucepan until the sugar has dissolved.

2. Allow the mass to cool and then mix with eggs and spices.

3. Mix flour, baking powder, cocoa and stir 2/3 of it under the honey mass, knead the rest by hand.

4. Print out and cut out the stencils.

5. Roll out the dough as thin as possible. Do not forget to pre-mill the work surface first.

6. Cut the walls and roofs for the gingerbread house with the stencils - preferably with a sharp knife.

7. Place the particles on a baking tray with baking paper and bake in the oven at 155 degrees for about 5 to 8 minutes. Allow to cool well.

8. Mix the icing sugar with some water to a sticky, thick mass, you can do a lot. After all, we want to build and decorate the little houses.

9. If you have the houses glued together, please wait a moment. The powdered sugar must be completely dry before you continue. And then it really only means: decorate, decorate, decorate.

Have fun!
