Myriam Göttig is 36 and has been working as a model since 1993. She has the greatest success with her legs. Even during her studies, she had her own set card for both her feet and her legs. Why is not it so bad to be reduced to a certain body part, how she cares for her legs and why her job is sometimes very exhausting, she tells us in an interview.

BYM.de: Myriam, your job is, admittedly, a bit unusual. How do you become a leg model at all?

Myriam: I started as a normal model to finance my architectural studies. Until it turns out that my legs are something very special. From then on, I was asked more and more often because of my legs and also because of my feet. First came my own body and leg set card and then suddenly I had one campaign after the other.

BYM.de: What's so special about your legs and feet?

Myriam: Let's start with the feet. Of course you have to have very nice feet: regular toes, no claw toes. Even as a child you should not necessarily have worn the wrong shoes, at least none that were much too small. The nail bed must be beautiful, the shackles must be slim and the calves must not be too muscular.

BYM.de: Not too muscular?

Myriam: The American and European markets are very different. In Europe, the legs should look the best as those of Marlene Dietrich - long and very graceful. The American ideal is more fitness-oriented.

BYM.de: And how else must a leg model leg be?

Myriam: Round knees that are not too pointed are also very important. If you bend it, nothing should come out. And of course, the proportions within the leg have to be right. Then of course there is the fact that the legs must always be hair-free and should always have a good, healthy skin color. Not too brown and not too bright. No scars, no tattoos and very nice, tight skin of course, which also implies very small, fine pores.

BYM.de: Phew, that's a lot! How you do that? For example, do you have a trick to keep your skin color beautiful?

Myriam: In the winter I sometimes go to the solarium, but really only very, very rarely. I also take off and on a self-tanner, where I am always afraid that it will then stains. I naturally have a healthy skin tone, in case of an emergency I also cover my legs a bit. In the summer, however, I make sure that I'm not too brown and always use a sunscreen with SPF 50.

BYM.de: And how long do you need about daily care?

Myriam: Of course, I do not want to be the hostage of my legs. If it has to go fast, I reach for the wet shaver. Important here are good products, such as the Venus Breeze with its gel pads. At the weekend, when I have a little more time, I epilate. I use the Silk-épil Xpressive, which is ideal for sensitive skin. Very important to me is the pedicure. I do that every two weeks. Because the feet just have to look great. That makes a difference like day and night.

BYM.de: And what happens if you accidentally tear the nail?

Myriam: I always have to make sure that I do not hurt myself. The other day in Athens, for example, something terrible has happened to me. The next day I would have to work in Germany. In a shop I ran against such a stupid part and there is indeed a toe splintered. He was halfway! Then I quickly called my pedicure woman, who opened my shop on Sundays and put a nail on the toe. Luckily you did not see that in the photos afterwards. I just knew: If one manages that, then she!

BYM.de: How long are your legs?

Myriam: Honestly, I do not know that. They have never been measured. But that's not so important. It depends much more on the proportions of the leg. Even a little woman can have a perfect leg.

BYM.de: How do you keep your legs in shape?

Myriam: Unfortunately I can not do everything I would like to do. Rollerblading for example. If I fell there and made a scar, it would be a clear capital loss. I also have to give up everything that makes the legs too muscular.I keep fit with a light running workout and various yoga exercises. This combination is ideal: it strengthens the muscles and at the same time makes them look a bit longer.

BYM.de: How can you imagine the sequence of a shoot in which you work as a leg model?

Myriam: First of all, I have to make sure that I have no marks on my legs when I get to the set. For example, I am not allowed to wear socks that tie up my ankle. The best are toe sandals and bare legs in the summer, because bruises are an absolute faux-pas. Otherwise, the team would have to wait half an hour for us to finally start working. It is also important that as a leg model you can read and understand every pose and every layout. That's the experience with me. A good pose is millimeter work. And that can take a while.

BYM.de: So is your job exhausting?

Myriam: Bein jobs are generally exhausting. More exhausting than other model jobs. You are the goods that are photographed. As a model you are always the subject, as a leg and body model very special. You have to sit still for an extremely long time and hold a certain position until the photographer has the perfect photo in the box. You just can not even go to the bathroom. And, of course, you already do dislocations that are more like yoga exercises. Tights, for example, are often photographed in the candle. And then you have to hold it for half an hour. This is expressed on the next day also like in a thick sore muscles.

BYM.de: Does leg modeling have advantages over a "traditional" modeling job?

Myriam: I can also sleepily come on set or have a bad mood, my face is not visible in the photo.

BYM.de: Have you ever had a celebrity legged?

Myriam: I have. I also played in movies as a body double. I also drubbed an actress several times. Who that was, I can not and do not want to call at this point. Unfortunately I have had bad experiences.

BYM.de: Is there anything about you that you do not like?

Myriam: Every woman has something she does not like at all. I think we should all focus on what we like best about ourselves and then put it in the limelight. Just a little more positive to deal with us, because then you radiate a bit more. That's nice.

Myriams care tip for beautiful legs: Especially women with a lot sensitive skin In winter, I recommend to epilate the legs and then take a nourishing oil bath. If I'm not in an oil bath, I'll just take a small shot of olive oil. Or a rich at bedtime Apply thick cream thick and move in overnight. And the next day you wake up wonderfully soft legs on.
