This is how we protect ourselves better from kindergarten viruses

It starts with the notice in kindergarten: gastrointestinal, bronchitis, scarlet fever? the list of scary diseases is long and infinite. And barely read, one desperately wants to wash hands and is already the first symptoms. Ten to twelve infections bring preschool children home each year. Most are triggered by viruses. And the younger the child, the more susceptible it is to the germs that gather in a facility with many children.

Sick children want to cuddle a lot

But getting sick as a parent is not possible. No time. And even if a few days in bed sound very seductive, that would be impractical in the overall package. So we get fit before it happens:

  • Regularly wash your hands for 15 to 20 seconds
  • Pay attention to the diet: Seasonal fruits and vegetables are fitters
  • Do not share handkerchiefs, toothbrushes or cold sprays
  • Do not touch your eyes, nose and mouth with your own hands
  • Keep distance to coughing or sneezing people
  • Avoid stress, alcohol and nicotine
  • Air three to four times a day
  • Avoid shaking hands and hugs
  • In the winter at night for air humidification against drying out of the mucous membranes by dry heating air care (hang damp towels, bowls with salt water set up)
  • Check your own vaccination

And the most important thing: sleep enough!

Researchers have found a link between parental defense preparedness and lack of sleep and stress. The defenses are weakened without sufficient rest periods for regeneration. It is best to go to sleep at the same time and get up. Also on the weekend. A regular rhythm prevents sleep disorders.

Also important: Wash your hands thoroughly before leaving the day care center and the children. And even on cold days, dressed warm, spend at least 30 minutes in the fresh air. Together and with a lot of fun, we train our immune system in a playful way.
