"The world is sexist!"

Patricia Arquette dedicated twelve years of her life to the film Boyhood. The Golden Globe Drama accompanies a boy on his way to adulthood - from school to college. Actress Patricia Arquette plays the boy's mother and could be awarded an Oscar for her role on February 22nd.

Twelve years in which we not only watched the young Mason (played by Ellar Coltrane) aging, but also his movie parents Patricia Arquette and Ethan Hawke. In an interview with the British Guardian, Patricia Arquette now criticizes Hollywood's stance on aging: "Actresses are under a lot of pressure to look alien and unrealistic, and they are not allowed to age, but to be incredibly attractive." This is how the film world works. The young, innocent actress has an extremely short shelf life in Hollywood.

Also, the unequal pay of men and women who does not stop at Hollywood (it has recently become known that Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence receives less pay than male colleagues for a comparable role) outraged the 46-year-old. "Women in America pretend that there is equality for them, but in reality they do not exist, the world is sexist," says Arquette, who calls herself a feminist.

Patricia Arquette also wants to give her eleven-year-old daughter self-confidence and feminine strength. "I always tell her, 'You're beautiful, you're perfect, you're smart, you're funny, you're great and you'll find the right person for you.' And I often ask them, 'Do you put this on because you like it yourself or because somebody else told you to wear it?' My idols were different, today it's the Kardashians, my were Led Zeppelin, Siouxsie and the Banshees and Deborah Harry, and I found women cool for whom looking was not everything. "
