Stefanie Hering: The daring

"Forward-looking design for me means designing things in a way that makes us feel twice as happy: about the good function and about the beautiful feelings that they bring to us," says Stefanie Hering, The 44-year-old is the founder of the internationally recognized porcelain label "hering Berlin". Their trademark: elegant products made of unglazed, matte biscuit porcelain.

Several years ago, the woman from Wahlberg drew attention to herself with thousands of perforated perforated cups. In addition to bowls, vases and bottles, her collection also includes a dinner service and the first porcelain figurines, as well as lights whose sophisticated lighting technology is provided by renowned lighting manufacturer Steng Licht from Stuttgart.

The art of product design is to give the soft porcelain mass the right proportions, because the fire takes the objects in the fire up to 20 percent of their size. The thinner the porcelain mass, the larger the deformations - Stefanie Hering always has to keep that in mind. The soft porcelain mass is turned freely on the potter's wheel, turned on or over machine shapes to achieve consistent dimensions, or cast by hand. She says, "Above all, I want to make the sensual meaningful."
