The care of the infectious patient calls for a victim: Sister Therese (Klara Deutschmann) is suffering from tuberculosis and should, as always handled, leave the Charité to die in the mother house in Kaiserswerth. But Ida (Alicia von Rittberg) fights successfully with Virchows (Ernst Stötzner) help that Therese can stay at the Charité. In the meantime, Robert Koch (Justus von Dohnányi) is testing his novel tuberculosis remedy for himself and for his lover Hedwig. The effect of the tuberculin is intense, so Ida is initiated as a secretive nurse to nurse the feverish cook.

He gets assigned to the students, of course, whose colleagues hardly give them a chance to graduate.

Unscrupulously, Philip Darankow (Vladimir Tarasjanz) goes over dead bodies: He lets a witness load, together with personal protection in the air. In order to get the imprisoned gangster boss anyway, the police are targeting Hamburg banker Simon Dreher (Benjamin Sadler).
