Presents tip: delicious cookbooks

These cookbooks must be down tree!

"Cookbooks are a wonderful Christmas present, they make you happy, they invite you to leaf through, more and more often to read, the beautiful pictures are exciting and if you go to the kitchen with the right cookbook, you and the people at your table will go far Christmas a little bit happier.

As a Christmas wish or gift recommendation for you, I have taken all those cookbooks out of the shelf that have particularly thrilled me this year. I have already introduced some of them to Nutriculinary.com in my blog this year. In addition to the tooltip, they also have a link to the corresponding article. Many went under in the everyday noise, it simply lacked the time to a decent review, here are these kitchen beads finally taken into account. The order of the performances is not a rating.

Presents tip: Topgrafie the gem and chaff

Dieter Froehlich's standard work of mixed and chopped food, which is probably unique in this form, is a carefully prepared, scientifically sound cookbook dedicated to dishes that used to be leftovers: dumplings, dumplings and puddings, sausages, pies and terrines Recipes for jellies, ragouts and fricasses, mousse and parfait, galantines and soufflés. The unadorned book brings together many recipes from the famous cookbook classics of the 18th and 19th centuries, for the first time in readable form, expanded and enriched with explanatory notes by the author and historical-scientific essays between the chapters. Absolutely great. For kitchen tiffiners and culinary researchers, a 400-plus-strong treasure chest. A detailed review can be found on Nutriculinary.com)

info: Topography of the gem and chaff. Dieter Froehlich (416 pages, 24 x 20.5 cm, hardcover, dust jacket, with 126 duotone illustrations and 8 fold-out, colored plates, ISBN 978-3-94168401-0, 39 euros, Tinto Verlag)

Gift Idea: Kitchen Treasures - Recipes for the soul

The book cover is deceptive: "Küchenschätze" is a beautifully designed collection of childhood memories from the kitchens of grandmothers and mothers with real soul-comforter dishes. A cookbook of classic German-Austrian cuisine, from warming soups and stews to hearty and fine meals, to fragrant cakes and seductive pudding. Everything richly and appetizingly illustrated by the Hamburg photographer Julia Hoersch, set in scene by the cookbook author and food stylist Anne-Katrin Weber, who also wrote the recipes.

The recipes convey feasibility and are rather more detailed in the description, so the book is also very suitable for beginners who hold a truly comprehensive collection of German-language traditional dishes and regional favorites in their hands. For a detailed review, visit Nutriculinary.com.

Gift: Very good vegetarian cooking

This year, the vegetarian kitchen was again the top issue in the cookbook market, I myself have with the Go Veggie! App brought out a digital cookbook on the subject. But because not everyone has the necessary technology, I highly recommend the great cookbook by Christian Wrenkh from the flood of paper cookbooks on the subject. Do not be fooled by the sub-line "Gourmet Recipes" - the recipes of the Gault Millau awarded, vegetarian master chef can be sure of success of beginners, but are refined and a real eye-catcher, brilliantly brought to light by the Hamburg photographer Ulrike Holsten. For me the most successful publication on paper.

Gift Tip: The Korea Cookbook

They did it again! Year after year, the Berlin publishing house "Jacoby & Stuart" inspires me with its illustrated cookbooks, all of which are highly recommended. After "Kitty's Berlin cookbook" and the wonderful "Istanbul cookbook", three Korean women will be serving the cuisine of their homeland this year and in between will tell stories about everyday life in Korea and their everyday lives in Germany. Everything that one likes to order "at the Koreans" is served - and much, much more! The book was lovingly and richly illustrated by illustrator Tina Kraus, who herself has experience in Korea.

info: The Korea Cookbook. Sunkyoung Jung, Yun-Ah Kim, Minbok Kou.Illustrations by Tina Kraus (160 pages, Flexcover, 17 x 23.5 cm, colored, ISBN 978-3-941787-43-8, publishing house Jacoby & Stuart, 19.95 Euro).

Gift idea: Bon! Bon! From the magic of sweet food

Charlotte Birnbaum's book "Bon! Bon!" is a delicious, literary-culinary dessert! It shows an entertaining cultural history of pâtisserie, starting with the very first candy, the honey. The art historian Charlotte Birnbaum writes with merriment of marzipan and Tarte Tatin, exposing Nostradamus as sweetmouth, exploring the secret of candied fruit. The author travels with us to Venice, the Orient and the sweet sides of world history. Numerous recipes lure into your own kitchen. The book, with wonderful illustrations by the artist and art professor Christa Näher, is a voluptuous book of reading, cooking and living. It is strongly recommended to have a few pieces of chocolate, chocolates or some cookies while reading, otherwise it will be difficult.
