If you do THAT, you will look great in the spring

The sun is coming out, hurry!

We admit it: in winter, we tend to neglect certain parts of the body and wrap ourselves in thick pullovers, jeans and fluffy boots. Our grace period is over, as soon as the sun's rays compel us to say goodbye to the visual pelle. Then we want to show our arms and legs, put feet in peep toes and bring a well-rested complexion to the café. Time for a spring beauty program!

Get the body out of hibernation? that's how it's done!

Arrange a lymph drainage appointment

Because one usually moves less in the winter than in the spring and summer, lymph fluid can accumulate, which leads faster to heavy legs. Lymphatic drainage ensures fast-visible effects: jammed water (in the thighs, for example) flows again, which makes you feel good and automatically stimulates more exercise.

Here's how it works: The full-body massage at the physiotherapist activates the immune system and is done in rhythmic circles along the lymph nodes on the neck, groin and legs.

Effect: Schedule ten sessions, about two per week. After just six 45-minute massages, the thigh circumference can be reduced by up to two centimeters. Downside: The effect is unfortunately not permanent, and each session costs about 40 euros.

Have a medical pedicure done

Flip-flops, peep-toes or sandals: Soon it will be time again - but the beautiful shoes with a look look good only if the feet are also neatly groomed.

Here's how it works: With a medical pedicure, there is neither a soothing massage nor a bubble bath - but wintery cornea, bruises and corns are most effectively removed. If you want to keep the result as long as possible, continue to cream at home diligently, so that the skin stays nice and soft.

Effect: With this treatment, you create a good basis for the summer - whoever grabs the pumice after every shower and regularly creams his feet, has at least three months rest.

Extra tip: Apply a rich foot mask before going to bed - this will ensure wonderfully soft feet when you wake up the next morning.

Creams for full body use

Inspired by the bestsellers of facial care, cosmetic companies are currently developing new, innovative products for the whole body. BB-Creams, for example, are supposed to play off their skin-enhancing multi-tasking skills over a larger area, and lotions with a blur effect ("to blur" means to blur) have a concealing effect. They adapt to the skin tone and cover where it is needed. Also great are sun creams with makeup features that save us the Foundation's mission.

It is best to prepare our legs with self-tanner for the outdoor season.

Gentle surface polish

Although they can not clear away any cellulite or upholstery problems, it is certainly possible to alleviate summer stress.

Massage creams are used specifically on the hips, abdomen, waist and arms, where then plant extracts (such as poppy) or caffeine should melt Pölsterchen - the plant material can inhibit according to studies, the accumulation of fats and simultaneously stimulate the degradation of existing depots.

Natural body brushes also have effects that, when used at least three times a week for three minutes before showering, should enhance the effect of anti-cellulite creams. You start at the shackles and work your way up the heart with stroking movements. This corresponds to the natural direction of the lymphatic system. Real boar bristles and rubber massage pimples remove dead skin cells and visibly reduce cellulite.

Mission silky shiny hair

Why not treat yourself to a hair treatment at the hairdresser at the start of the spring: while you relax wonderfully, the hair, strained by winter, is freed from its dull veil in several steps and refreshed again. Kérastase has developed a hair care ritual for his salons, in which a newly researched molecule plays the main role: Abyssine - discovered in the volcanic rock of the Pacific Ocean, it withstands extreme influences there. Combined with energizing and calming active ingredients, the "Chronologiste-Treatment" aims to strengthen hair against environmental influences, to smooth its structure and to make it shine again. As with classical facial care rituals, the hair treatment also begins with a peeling massage, which aims to cleanse and thereby stimulate the microcirculation of the scalp. Thereafter, the hair is washed with a shampoo to strengthen the fibers and provide the scalp with moisture. Then a nourishing mask is applied, which is enriched shortly before rinsing with caviar beads. This special highlight is to provide the hair with nutrients intensive and thus give him new energy. Finally, the hair is blown off and an oil-based hair fragrance takes over the fragrant and nourishing finish.

info The "Chronologiste? Treatment" (about 30 minutes) is offered exclusively in Kérastase salons from about 45 euros (Salonfinder on www.kerastase.com). The individual products can also be bought at home.

Self-tanner 2.0 (!)

Sensitive skin types have often reacted to the tan from the tube with irritation, while others prefer to build up the tanning effect step by step so that it looks more natural. That is exactly what these two new self-tanners promise:

The "Sensitive Range" from St. Tropez (from approx. 32 Euro) is suitable for sensitive skin and allergy sufferers. Only herbal ingredients were used that are hypoallergenic, so do not trigger allergies. In addition, a patented active ingredient is included, which should avoid the typical self-tanner smell.

Anyone who applies the "Flash Bronzer Night Sun" for face and body of Lancôme (about 30 euros) every evening can, so the promise, gradually brown. In contrast to conventional self-tanning products, the cream contains less DHA - a type of glucose that reacts with the proteins and amino acids of the horny layer on the skin, thereby coloring the skin. This leaves the "Suddenly Brown overnight" effect.

Extra tip: With self-tanner you can give some body parts more contour and cheat them so slimmer. If you apply a second layer on the inner thighs, they darken, which narrows visually. Also works on the insides of the upper arms and along the waist.

Impeccable fingertip feeling

Nails in fresh colors look wonderfully summery - provided they are well maintained. And now new, effective paints with special skills from care to shatter protection are used:

Similar to CC Creams (Color Correction Creams) for the face, which in addition to the care, make-up and cover in a texture unite, you can with the "CC Polish" by Alessandro (about 13 euros) color and nourishing Apply active ingredients for the regeneration of the nail in a brushstroke. Available in four nude shades, it is also in terms of color technology in the trend.

The "Nail Polishes" by Anny (about 10 euros) contain a newly developed gel that forms a protective film that increases the opacity of the paint, making it resistant to splintering and quick-drying. Resins should also give long-lasting shine.

Care with integrated Navi

To bring substances exactly where they should act in the skin: This is the declared new development goal of many cosmetic companies. Shiseido has already achieved it: To regain the luminosity of regaining the glow of the skin, the researchers have developed the new "Bio-Performance Glow Revival Serum" (about 99 euros), which is where the blood circulation system and skin surface meet Vessels, the capillaries, to act. A specially created complex of active ingredients serves to activate proteins that produce compounds in the capillaries in order to optimize the nutrient absorption of the skin. Especially from the age of 30 she can use support of her natural luminosity, explains the Munich dermatologist Dr. med. Stefan Duve: "The circulation is better and more evenly distributed in the skin at a young age, but as the subcutaneous tissue thickens and the blood vessel's distance to the surface of the skin increases, the natural glow is more and more lost."

Chiropody as with the professional

It used to be several visits to the pedicure to make the feet flip-flop-fit. Now it's done at home: with "Pedi", the exfoliating brush for the feet by Clarisonic (in the set with care products approx. 200 Euro). You can actually see results after the first application.

And this is how it works: 1. On dry feet with a brush brushing smooth the rough and horny places.

2. Using the special scrub brush head, incorporate the exfoliation included in the set under the shower.

3. Then cream the feet with the balm. Thanks to its matte texture, there's no slip-up risk.

4. Lastly, apply the skin renewing serum on the still keratinized areas, preferably at bedtime - it should stimulate cell renewal.

The "Pedi", according to the recommendation of the manufacturer, should be applied twice a week for a maximum of 10 minutes.

Facial sauna with depth effect

Small and practical for the home, the steam of a facial sauna should increase the blood circulation of the skin and open the pores (eg "FS 4820" by Grundig, about 45 Euro). In contrast to the bowl-full-hot-water-and-towel-over version, it does not even cause the scalp to work up a sweat. You choose the steam level (high, low, pulsating), and the timer can be set to 10? 30 minutes, depending on the intensity required. Incidentally, steaming is ideal for exfoliating dead skin cells and removing impurities such as excess sebum (eg with "Exfoliating Scrub" by Clinique, approx.A second application three to four days later is a perfect preparation for a face mask - thanks to the open pores, the skin can now the care ingredients (eg from "Hydra-Therapy Skin Vitality Mask" with zinc oxides by Erno Laszlo, approx. 85 euros) optimally record.

The 2-minute massage

Through targeted grips, the effect of personal care products can be optimized.

That's how it's done: Forming your hands into a loose fist, place your fingertips on your thighs; Now you roll over as fast as possible over the fingers and work on the entire thighs, until a feeling of warmth occurs. This should improve the skin's moisture and stimulate the flow of energy.

Ablating, switching and other clever beauty jobs

The cold creams have winter break, the sunscreen with SPF 50 is only purchased. But which care is the right one now? Three questions to the Munich dermatologist Dr. med. Stefan Duve.

How are the needs of the skin changing at the beginning of spring? Compared to winter, one should rather reduce the care in spring. However, when it gets warmer and the humidity starts to increase again, there is a risk that comedones or even pimples will be the result of over-greasing or over-maintenance. Therefore, it is important to remove the dried out winter skin after the cold season. I recommend two or three microdermabrasions to my patients. In this treatment, the upper dander with small crystals are removed and aspirated. In addition, you should switch from normal winter skin care to a little less rich and think of the already intense spring sunshine. A light day cream with SPF 10 to 20 is therefore ideal.

How important is the cleansing of the skin now? It is a must year-round, but towards the spring, regular thoroughness becomes even more important. Two to three times a week an enzyme peeling or a duo peeling, which combines fine peeling particles with biological active ingredients, is good for the skin. For daily cleaning, electric facial cleansing brushes and a mild cleansing mousse are suitable.

And do you need another care in midsummer? This is only necessary at temperatures above 30 degrees. Then you can do without masks and sometimes even creams. Only sun protection is essential. It is usually enough to apply a serum twice a week.

The sun reveals every little dandruff that disturbs the appearance of the skin. Time for a scrub? not only on the face, but also on the body. A full-body scrub that contains nourishing oils also makes rough areas on elbows, knees and heels beautiful again.

Effect: The skin immediately looks fresher and is beautifully soft. By the way, one exfoliation per week is quite enough - more is not tolerated especially by sensitive skin.

Maintain hair

Because our hair is exhausted after months of sun and dry heating air, they need more attention now.

That's how it's done: In the evening, go through the hair with a natural hairbrush to remove styling residues such as hair spray or powder. It distributes the natural sebum of the scalp to the tips, making the hair more resistant and makes it shine beautifully. Brushes with wild boar bristles are the most suitable because they are most similar to human hair. An ionic brush also helps against flying, electrically charged hair.

The effect: brushing not only instantly gives the hair a great shine, it also makes it feel much smoother - in the long term, split ends are prevented and the structure improved.
