Does an esoteric coach help?

Sufi meditation

It was just before New Year's Eve 2006, when the world around Ulrike Krasemann darkened. Because of paralysis, the 39-year-old from Hamburg had to hospital. Triggers: a herniated disc due to too much stress. A few years earlier, she had become self-employed as event manager - one of her first assignments was the co-organization of the "Golden Camera". The business was good for the wiry dark-haired woman, there were hardly any breathers. Even when she went to yoga, she saw it primarily as a sporty aspect. Your partner probably is not wrong when he lovingly describes her as a gladiator, who almost tears for every job in the arena. And Ulrike Krasemann, who became world champion in vaulting as a teenager, has always worked on the performance principle. Until she got problems with her disc and pulled the emergency brake. Still in the hospital she wrote down her goals for 2007 on a piece of paper. "Think more about me, not just on the outside", was at the top. As soon as she got better, she followed a recommendation from a relative who had enthusiastically told her about a Sufi meditation group.

It is headed by the captivating-patente Helmi Feld, a 66-year-old native Persian, who was sent to Germany by her parents at 19, because, as she jokingly said, she was no longer available in Persia. And you just have to look at her, that self-confident woman with the direct gaze, to suspect that she would not have been happy in her family, which banned women almost everything. But after some detours, she has rediscovered her roots, and her knowledge of Sufism, the form of millennia-old mysticism of Islamic tradition, in which every man is to come into contact with his inner divinity through mantras and meditations, is now passed on every Thursday.

Helmi Feld is a kind of spiritual coach. Such personal trainers for the soul are used by more and more people. Thus, the Institute for Demoscopy in Allensbach already determined in 2001 that about one in four Germans is looking for tips from spiritual counselors. More recent data is not available, but in the meantime, the number may have increased, because the search for a higher meaning of life, the desire for answers beyond the known dogmas "Success! Career! Designer outfit!" can be felt everywhere, especially in times of uncertain, crisis-prone times - especially in the case of people in high stress. Even Chancellor Angela Merkel appreciates the encounters with the Dalai Lama.

That there are among the spiritual coaches but also dubious providers, Those who are less well-trained and earn a lot of money, for example as "telephone depositors", are obvious. Not infrequently, customers become dependent on them, are increasingly in debt and must be treated at the end. So, if you are looking for esoteric life counseling, you should check exactly who is using which services.

Sufi teacher Helmi Feld always starts the lesson with a soothing opening song, to give her group from the hectic metropolis the opportunity to arrive. Then follow chakra exercises, with which the participants feel the connection to their body, and in the subsequent spiritual "ablution" they clean themselves from the afflictions of the everyday life. For event manager Ulrike Krasemann, this rite is where you imagine yourself bathing your hands in a jar full of golden light and simply washing off all the unpleasantness you've experienced over the week, the most important part of the evening. This is followed by a 20-minute silence. At the beginning she only made it with great difficulty. The silent inactivity seemed endless to her. But now she enjoys it and says with respect that she "does not want to miss Helmi anymore". From the beginning, she felt secure with her, and the mantras sung together also mean a lot to her because they address something that is foreign to most of us: love for oneself - without any claim to performance.

And that's the point: The harsher the storms are outside, the more important it becomes to develop a benevolent basic self-confidence. With the help of a coach. The paradigm shift - away from rationality, towards more intuition and inwardness - can be observed almost everywhere. The New York Times, for example, writes that increasingly business people and investment bankers, unsettled by the financial crisis, make use of the services of "psychics" and "astrologers". "In the past, we were always asked only about love, love, love," the newspaper quotes a clairvoyant. Today, the profession is the most important topic. And men are becoming more and more commonplace today.

fortuneteller

Prof. Dr. K., an emeritus professor and former chief physician of a German university hospital, At the beginning of 70, who prefers to remain anonymous, he was a real pioneer when, 30 years ago, he got an appointment with the Berlin fortune teller Gabriele Hoffmann. At that time it was about his daughter, who had been diagnosed with a severe heart defect at the age of four - a shock to the family. "Even as a professional, you like trying out obscure directions," he explains.

Before he came to Gabriele Hoffmann, he went to various astrologers, but they did not convince him. Just as there are good and bad doctors, he says, that's just the way it is here. But Gabriele Hoffmann, who has brought it to media awareness as a "fortune teller of Hildegard Knef", he was "completely baffled": She could almost call the medical details from the textbook and finally advised him not to operate his daughter in the US let what he had considered, but in Munich. The procedure was exactly as Gabriele Hoffmann had predicted.

It is understandable that Prof. K. later consulted her in difficult professional situations, for example before his habilitation. And she was always right. Even then, when she warned him urgently about a holiday in Schleswig - but he did not want to listen to her. In Northern Germany he had a serious accident and his arm had to be amputated. But even in this crisis, her "practiced life coaching", as he calls Gabriele Hoffmann's services, worked: "Very gently, she told me two more operations in the medium term, but they would turn out well." His visit to her quietened him from one moment to the next, despite the unfortunate situation. "With this woman, our entire scientific world view fails," says the doctor, who describes himself as a rational head person. "When you do, you just have to admit that there are people who know more and are more clairvoyant than others."

Feng Shui

Pragmatic and not a bit esoteric, Munich-based Henriette Zeltner, a friend recommended a few years ago Feng Shui master Johannes Maierhofer. It just had to change something: Her six-year-old twins Lina and Lola slept extremely badly, were exhausting - and Henriette Zeltner stressed enormously. Maierhofer did not ask for a long time, came from near Frankfurt, surveyed the whole apartment, set up water taverns in certain corners, recommended a red blanket on the piano and placed something metallic under the bed for the children. That sounds bizarre? Maybe, but Henriette Zeltner swears that after a few weeks not only Lina and Lola slept much quieter. Her order situation as a freelance translator and editor also improved significantly after "Johannes" changed her office.

"That was completely crazy," says the 40-year-old. More precisely, she can not explain the effect. Meanwhile, she calls Maierhofer a "real friend of the house". At least as important as the calculations of her apartment, which he makes at his computer in Hesse at regular intervals, are also the personal conversations, in which they together concretize Henriette Zeltner's goals and how she can finally implement them.

In the past, he himself dismissed Feng-shui as esotericism and smiled at him, says Johannes Maierhofer, who studied geology and mineralogy and then designed more than 35,000 workplaces with his company for the planning of company buildings and completed the moves. Until the day he just heard a lecture on Feng-shui at an office furniture fair. He says that he has come back "completely enlightened," and that he is still fascinated by the complexity of this science today. His real spirituality, Maierhofer says, was that he developed after introductory seminars in Asia but only in personal contact with his master in the USA. Today he senses energies and influences that affect every person in his environment. A process that begins with a potential analysis based on the birthday and floor plan of the apartment, which Feng-Shui says are energetically interacting. In addition, he always looks at the overall situation: where does the man want to go, where are the chances, what is happening right now?

Henriette Zeltner had to deal with this in 2008, that her longtime partner and father of the twins was suddenly tired of family life - and she had no choice but to find a new apartment. But Henriette Zeltner was lucky and was soon offered a house nearby that she liked very much. Johannes Maierhofer alone advised against it - with the remark that the new apartment was bad for their sales. She hesitated a bit, but then trusted him. And only a week later found an idyll with a garden, exactly one street away from her old apartment.

"Even when I stood alone with two children overnight, I did everything calmly," she says with quiet pride. Her twins play in their pink nursery as carefree today as if they had never lived anywhere else. And over the piano lies the red cloth again. But before you can joke about it silently, Henriette Zeltner clearly states: "Without Maierhofer it would not have worked so smoothly."

Psychological astrology

Kerstin Honrath from Potsdam also took care of her child in 2005 in new ways: Son Nicki was terribly fidgety, and by that time no therapy had really hit the nine-year-old. Finally, she turned to the Berlin astrologer and naturopath Roswitha Broszath. Even without ever having seen the boy, Broszath, who has been responsible for the ChroniquesDuVasteMonde chart for more than 20 years, identified so many characters and symptoms based on place of birth and hour that Kerstin Honrath was astonished. She put Nicki into practice, and when the homeopathic globules soon made him feel better, she made another appointment - for herself.

During this meeting, the 43-year-old learned things, presented by Roswitha Broszath with convincing naturalness, "nobody really knows", as Kerstin Honrath says. Among other things, the astrologer said to the trained real estate agent on the head that she was sitting on hot coals long ago, tired of the housewife's existence, and finally ended with the question of whether she had ever thought about self-employment. In fact, Kerstin Honrath had long dreamed of an exclusive boutique that would certainly have a future in Potsdam, as there were only a few beautiful fashion shops, but all the more potential customers. She had the skills, Broszath confirmed.

For a year now, Kerstin Honrath has been the owner of a boutique and is attracting style-conscious Potsdam ladies. "Anyone who did not sit in the consulting room of Roswitha Broszath will not understand that," she guesses, "but with me a single consultation has changed my whole life." The secret? "If this person, who has seen you through your natal chart, encourages you, say, 'Dare it, you have what it takes' - then it can be an enormous boost."

Roswitha Broszath herself simply describes her concern as a "psychological astrologer": "I want to help people become the person they are meant to be." Strikingly fashionable is the slender 64-year-old, whose clients include many actors, media people and doctors. All people who always have to look strong to the outside and easily forget about listening to themselves. Until they find their way into Roswitha Broszath, because they simply can not get on with their functioning.

However, Roswitha Broszath does not do anyone the favor of predicting the future. It can only interpret the facilities that everyone brings - and illuminate the current situation. She is convinced that the planetary constellations form each character uniquely at the time of birth. But it needs a good interpreter to interpret the facilities and promote the process of self-knowledge. Only when someone has clarified his true goals, he could realize his dreams. "The cosmos is not about our happiness, but about how much development is taking place in us right now," she quotes one of her favorite rules from Zen Buddhism. No one has to fear. On the contrary: It would be leaked to us from life constantly new balls.

Horoscopes and tarot

"There are time qualities, everything falls into your lap", also confirms Gerlinde Pöchhacker. The down-to-earth 41-year-old girl from Linz has a completely unspiritual job that she has always loved: she advises institutions and organizations in the field of research, technology and innovation. Until 2007 she did it as managing director of a Upper Austrian company, but after twelve years in the company, she decided it was time for a professional reorientation. And so she has become self-employed and now uses her knowledge of structural support measures abroad. The decisive kick she also got from an astrologer.

Gerlinde Pöchhacker has long been interested in teaching the stars. She knows the planetary constellation at the time of her birth - but also her own limits as an astrologer. And so in the course of her adult life she tried one pro after another - until she heard from Uli Brunner two years ago. She was immediately fascinated by the "excellent work" of this woman: The charming mid-fifties woman with a gray-flecked hedgehog analyzed her horoscope, described her past and the current situation and, based on that, determined the challenges of the near future. She also used Tarot cards to capture all the nuances of the new client, and so Gerlinde Pochhacker learned right from the first visit to Uli Brunner's apartment that she would successfully apply for the position of managing director - but soon had to prepare for the next career change ,

"When Uli said that, it started working in me," says Gerlinde Pöchhacker. The desire for independence, which had already blown up again and again, was getting bigger, but it took two more sessions until Uli Brunner had taken her all doubts.

Today her young company is booming: Within a year she was able to increase her staff to five people and move into spacious, bright rooms in the middle of Linz. She also married, a school friend she met two years ago - exactly as Uli Brunner told her. Gerlinde Pöchhacker is proud of what she has achieved, "but against the knowledge of Uli Brunner I'm a little sausage," she says laughing. And perhaps this is the answer to the question of the meaning and quality of spiritual life coaching: If a seeker not only recognizes and fosters her in his particularity, but also feels much better, then the coach has probably done a good job.

Info: Find a reputable coach

Spiritual jobs are not protected, so it is wise to rely on referrals from friends or acquaintances who have had good experiences with a coach.

Information is available z. B. also with the Association of German Astrologers: www.dav-astrologie.de.

In addition, one should make sure that the coach has not only attended a weekend seminar, but has a sound education as a psychologist, therapist, astrologer or the like and that he belongs to a corresponding association. And that he makes no advertising and respects the confidentiality. Who advertises with his clients, can not be serious help.

For fortune-tellers and seers also: You should ask no big questions in advance, otherwise they can already make a picture of their counterpart.
