Angelika (Ursula Strauss) is ordered from the outdoor pool to a special scene: the apartment of Santa Claus. And it is tragic: Santa Claus is shot dead in the anteroom. He may have been more concerned with his own enjoyment lately than the gifts for the children, for his earthly alter ego, Kurt Swoboda, had a relationship with a prostitute. Did that know the wife? Did the stepdaughter punish him? Did a business partner take revenge? Anyway, the mess is probably out this year.

When chief commissioner Johanna Herz (Imogen Knogge) learns by an anonymous phone call about the murder of police pupil Christine Teichow (Katharina Schüttler), everything points to a violent crime. But there is no corpse, and apparently nobody had closer contact with the young woman. At the police academy Oranienburg, Herz meets Christine's former roommate Nicola, who obviously knew Christine well, but shows herself locked up. Martin Becker, one of the instructors at the police academy, also had a close relationship with Christine.
