Beware, trap on the household shelf: The Hamburg consumer center is currently warning of a lousy new case of rip-off!

The popular dish soap "Fairy" is suddenly around 50 percent more expensive - and hardly a customer notices!

50 percent more expensive and no one notices - how can that be?

With a mean trick! The bottle says "New size, more content" - and that's true, but that's only half the story. Because: In the new bottle instead of 450 ml are now 500 ml. That's just 50 ml more - and that's not really much.

Much, however, was turned on the price screw: In the Hamburg drugstore chain Budni for example, a bottle now no longer costs 1.19 euros, but 1.99 euros - the 50 ml more cost 80 cents! Or, to convert it: The new bottle is almost 50 percent more expensive than the previous one!

How can I detect such supermarket meshes before I spend too much?

The tip is a classic, but it is just incredibly effective: always pay attention to the base price, so the price for 1 liter, or 100 grams. The must be clearly marked in the supermarket and unmasked immediately if manufacturers want to make their products expensive again and want to disguise by changing the pack size.

Attention: There is also the opposite case - and it is even more sophisticated! Because again and again manufacturers reduce the content of their packs - we do not recognize this as a customer but usually not, because in this case, the manufacturers just do not write a conspicuous "New Size" note on it.
