Will Ann-Sophie be the second Lena Meyer-Landrut?

The last ones will be the first ... or?

In the preliminary round of the "Eurovision Song Contest" she came only on the second place, but Ann Sophie will sing on Saturday at the ESC final for Germany.

Their participation was not a good star. At the German preliminary round in Hannover more viewers had called for their competitor Andreas Kümmert than for them. But surprisingly Ann Sophie left his ticket to Vienna - presumably because he felt overwhelmed by the participation in the ESC.

Her song "Black Smoke" is not a clear winner yet. He is not represented in the German charts and among bookmakers he is not one of the favorites.

Ann-Sophie arrives

On Sunday, the Hamburg-born woman from Hamburg was on the ESC stage for the first time in the Wiener Stadthalle to rehearse "Black Smoke". She dropped the easy governess, hung blazer and pearl necklace, and threw herself into a cool black jumpsuit to match the song. The press was impressed by her vocals, her confident manner and her song, which stands out nicely from the Balladen-Einheitsbrei.

Is she the surprise Lena?

On her big performance she is prepared by choreographer Nikeata Thompson, who had already coached Lena Meyer-Landrut. Perhaps Ann-Sophie will also benefit from her acting training at the New York "Lee Strasberg Theater & Film Institute" during the preparations for the ESC - and the tide is still turning. "The universe probably knew that I absolutely wanted it," said the 24-year-old after her successful performance in Vienna. And if the universe thinks it's good, nothing can go wrong.
