ChroniquesDuVasteMonde Young Miss: Have you ever lived in a shared apartment?

Smudo: No - I used to have a girlfriend who used to live in a shared apartment, but we always preferred to go to my house.

ChroniquesDuVasteMonde Young Miss: Imagine that you could just start a WG like this no matter where and with whom. Which city would you choose? And who would be your favorite roommate?

Smudo: Of course I would stay in wonderful Hamburg and found a shared flat with Christoph Columbus, Elly Beinhorn and Michael Jackson. The first two are never there and leave me alone and Michael reminds me only by his presence before the mistakes that can be made on the way to the Pop Dinosaur.

ChroniquesDuVasteMonde Young Miss: What do you always find in your fridge?

Smudo: Redbull sugar-free, milk for coffee and garlic.

ChroniquesDuVasteMonde Young Miss: To be honest: how much space does your record collection actually occupy in your home? And which pieces of it are your loved ones?

Smudo: I had a few meters of vinyl records, then mountains of CDs and now everything is digital on my server.

ChroniquesDuVasteMonde Young Miss: Do you drink tea or coffee in the morning? And what do you prefer to have breakfast? Toast, rolls or cereals?

Smudo: coffee, scrambled eggs. Maybe a croissant.

Smudo: "Football does not interest me"

Smudo definitely has a good sense for fat beats.

ChroniquesDuVasteMonde Young Miss: How many soccer jerseys are scattered in your apartment?

Smudo: None. I'm not interested in football. I have a VfB jersey signed by the players somewhere in a souvenir corner because we supported our home club with a concert at the master celebration.

ChroniquesDuVasteMonde Young Miss: Do you take care of the neighbors or do you rather make a loud noise?

Smudo: I occasionally hear loud music. But music is my profession. That's why I do not hear so much in my free time. Similar to the saying "Ever looked a barber on the head?"

ChroniquesDuVasteMonde Young Miss: Can you cook? What is your favorite food?

Smudo: Yes, I can cook. I do not have a special favorite food. I think Italian is great, but I'm actually an omnivore.

ChroniquesDuVasteMonde Young Miss: Are you the freak or the full chaot?

Smudo: I think I'm in between. I am very glad that I married a very orderly woman.

ChroniquesDuVasteMonde Young Miss: You have a little daughter. What does everything change when you live with a small child?

Smudo: The sleeping and waking times, the relationship to the partner, the distribution of the objects in the apartment and the relationship to the worldly things in general.

ChroniquesDuVasteMonde Young Miss: You play at the Baltic Soul. What can people be happy about?

Smudo: I'm going to release a hopefully interesting mix of soulful rap classics and danceable soul to ska songs.

ChroniquesDuVasteMonde Young Miss: What are your plans for this year?

Smudo: With the Fantastischen Vier we will celebrate our 20th anniversary on 25.7. in Stuttgart with a large orchestra. We are also working on a new album for 2010; Maybe we can make a frilly single later this year. There are already some good ideas.
