Very easy: This is what the pretty perfect table looks like
We eat very, very much. In fact, it is one of the most important things in our lives. Even better than just eating is eating at a wonderfully set table with friends. However, preferably with little work and minimal time. We are finally economical. That's why we asked interiorexpert Janina Krinke how to get the perfect table right.
Barbara.de: What does the perfect table look like?
Janina Krinka: It's good if you have a nice motto that you can build around, that can be travel, for example. I often bring plates and accessories from vacation, I mix and matche like. It always looks great when you combine different colors and patterns.
Do you still need a tablecloth in 2016?
Yes. I am a total table-linen fan. For example, I like linen as a material in muted colors. Of course it is also possible without, but this haptic of the ceiling enhances a table and makes it more comfortable. Just like candles. They belong to a perfect table for me. Whether candlesticks, lanterns, tealights or trusses? something has to burn on the table. This is important for me.
Is there a special trick that makes a table more beautiful?
Just throw a lot of small glasses together, place different flowers in them and distribute them on the table. That looks totally nice automatically. Succulents also always or small cactuses go in the pot. By the way: Plastic pots can be hung up with a bit of tissue paper in an instant.
Speaking of paper. Does it have to be napkins made of cloth?
No. There are really nice paper napkins. And if you still have a pack of Ikea napkins home, you can stamp on the super with names or symbols. Otherwise you can just take beautiful towels, that often looks really good. It does not always have to be perfect, often the imperfect is just charming. I also think it's great to simply put cutlery in a glass or cup and put it in the middle of the table.
What can not be on a really nice table?
Plastic water bottles. They break everything. It looks the same when the wine and water are in a pitcher or carafe on the table. This does not have to be an expensive decanter, a simple decanter and a rustic jug always go.
What is more important? The food or the table decoration?
Since you ask the right one! Actually, of course, the food should be in the foreground. But if you've made a really great meal and it's served on a loveless table, it's no fun. I do not need star cuisine and would also eat miracoli if the tablecloth is right. I can not cook very well, so I have delicious sandwiches and everything looks nice.
