Tiramisu: The best recipe

Original Italian tiramisu - the best recipe

Ingredients for 4 servings

  • 150 grams of sugar
  • 6 fresh egg yolks
  • 450 grams of mascarpone
  • 2 tablespoons Amaretto
  • 150 milliliters of espresso
  • 220 grams of sponge fingers
  • Cocoa powder for dusting

Preparing tiramisu - explained step by step

  1. Beat the egg yolks and sugar creamy for three to four minutes. Attention: The eggs must be fresh!
  2. Now lift the mascarpone under the sugar egg mass.
  3. Pour the amaretto into the espresso, dunk in a few spoonfuls of biscuits and then layer them in the casserole dish. Continue until the bottom of the mold is covered.
  4. Spread a part of the mascarpone mixture over the biscuits. Briefly dab more sponge fingers into the espresso-amaretto mixture, place them on the mascarpone cream and brush them again with mascarpone.
  5. Let the Tiramisu run in the fridge for three to four hours.
  6. Get the dessert out of the fridge just before serving and dust it with cocoa.

For example, you can use cocoa instead of amaretto with espresso.
Ready in 10 minutes - plus 4 hours rest

The classic from Italy

What tastes more like "dolce vita" than Tiramisu? The famous Italian dessert comes from Veneto, but today has fans all over the world. But it has been known since the Middle Ages. For the first time, the term "Tiramisù" (Italian for "pull me up") was used in 1970 in Treviso.

Tiramisu - the original recipe

Spoon biscuit and mascarpone cream are alternately layered for the classic recipe. The biscuits are soaked in cold espresso. Often the espresso is also mixed with alcoholic drinks such as almond liqueur, amaretto or brandy. Of course, there are also non-alcoholic variants of Tiramisu.

Very important: When the dessert is ready, it has to be left in the fridge for several hours. Because of this, the mascarpone mixture only becomes firm. Before the dessert is served, you have to sprinkle the last cream layer with cocoa powder.

Tiramisu reinterpreted

Of course, the original recipe can also be easily modified and adapted to the respective season. In summer, for example, a tiramisu of pineapple and coconut makes a wonderful impression: a strawberry tiramisu, for example, fits perfectly on a warm summer's day. In the fall, however, we create a tiramisu with cherries and sherry during at Christmas time delicious combinations with speculoos, gingerbread spice or banana our favorites are.

Vegan tiramisu

Who dispenses with animal products, Tiramisu can also prepare in the vegan version. For mascarpone, there are alternatives from soy quark or soy cream. The biscuit can be made without egg from flour, cane sugar, oil, baking powder, vanilla sugar and mineral water - and the vegan dessert is perfect!
