Thore Schölermann and Jana Kilka: Who has the last word in wedding planning
In love, engaged - and soon married! Just recently, presenter Thore Schölermann (34) and actress Jana Julie Kilka (31) announced that they would like to venture together before the wedding altar. In the interview, they talk about their big day, the wedding preparations - and how they can still keep calm in the stress.
Today is your first public appearance as a fiancee - how do you feel?
Thore Schölermann: Almost a year of hide-and-seek is over and even if nothing has really changed for us with the release, it only feels really real now. It's a new level of relationship that we both only want to achieve once in our lives.
You have been engaged since April, why have you been keeping a secret for so long?
Schölermann: We wanted our friends to hear the news from us personally and not from the press.
Do you spend a lot of time preparing your wedding? And how do you keep calm in this exciting time?
Jana Kilka: Yes, wedding preparations are really exhausting and stressful. And we also have to be careful that we do not lose sight of each other as a couple. That's why we deliberately take time off. Even if they are so small.
Schölermann: In these moments we lie down together on the couch, talk about our day and our thoughts or just keep silent. We really enjoy something sweet and make ourselves really comfortable. As of today, Milka Dark Milk is definitely one of our chocolate favorites. (Laughs)
The plan is to have a winter wedding in the Alps next year. What exactly did you introduce yourself?
Schölermann: To be honest, nothing is clear yet. Only one thing: we will not be planning this year with our appointments under one hat, so it will definitely 2020. Sea or mountains, South Sea or Europe, summer or winter ... everything is still open.
Do you do it all yourself or do you trust a wedding planner?
Schölermann: If I had known how complicated it would be to plan a wedding, I would have married a wedding planner. At the moment I am trying to get the diamond for the ring from Africa and Jana is planning wildly.
Kilka: More questions come up every day than there are answers, and since we are both fully involved professionally, we got professional help from our wedding planner Marry Jane from Hanover.
Do you make all decisions together or who finally has the last word?
Kilka: Thore has spent all his romance in the proposal, so it's essential that I have the last word, otherwise it will not be a romantic, but a practical wedding. Thore's first question was: Do you really need a wedding dress, that's totally uncomfortable. Any questions?
Do you already have a wedding dress in mind?
Kilka: Even before I knew who I was marrying, it was clear what my dress looked like. My favorite designer Maria Lucas from Cologne will tailor it for me to measure.
Could you imagine showing your wedding on TV, such as Daniela Katzenberger?
Kilka: For no money in the world. This is a moment that we only share with our family and friends without wasting a thought on cameras. We will even have a mobile phone ban so everyone just celebrates.
