There used to be more lametta! ? Why Christmas should really sparkle again

From time to time, since 2015 there is no tinsel manufacturer in Germany anymore. "Tinsel is completely out"? It was called back then when the last productions went bankrupt. What a nonsense! Tinsel glistens and shines. That's never out. And anyway, who wants to hang spiked straw stars and ugly eco-deco of old yarn on the tree? Christmas is pageantry. Christmas needs shine. Everything else just makes no sense, I think.

Is the duck still ok?

Tinsel is not environmentally friendly. True, the three strips of lead and aluminum that we save will of course significantly influence climate change. That's why the roast beef is now prohibited. Costs us too much water and increases CO2 emissions. And Aunt ChroniquesDuVasteMonde now only wants white meat, because it has less calories? on Christmas day!

Everything is lost which was beautiful

Earlier, the living room door was locked and we went to church. As a child, of course, I fantasized that the living room was overflowing with gifts because the service went so long. People sang and played music on every corner. They did not always strike the right tone, but that did not matter. Today everything is just "fast, fast". An appointment chases the other. Coffee here, stollen there, a birthday champagne and the toddlers is helped with the gifts, because otherwise the food overcooked.

The new tinsel: beating oneself the tree

No, so the tree stays. Without a tree does not work. After Craftbeer, it is now totally hyggelig to beat his own Christmas tree. But is there anything more primal human than to uproot a Christmas tree at Christmas? Who thinks about the environment? In addition, it is freezing cold and totally exhausting and in the end you are happy about a leaning Christmas tree as about the self-painted picture of a two-year-old. And that's always the same every year, every year when Christmas is. Not only at the Hoppenstedts.

Of course, no animals were tortured for this post. That is also far from us. But it will be a little Christmas mood, right? Incidentally, Barbara also dreams of tinsel:
