Jasmin Tabatabai - "I ran"

© Chet Recor (Groove Attack)

Five years we had to wait? Now she is finally back. After her debut album "Only Love", multi talent Jasmin Tabatabai starts with a new album. Whether for rocking, dreaming or buzzing? "I ran" offers thoughtful and quiet songs as well as some catchy tunes. So you can not help but get carried away by the catchy sound of the first single release "Let's stay together". The title of the album "I ran" (written in Iran) alludes to Tabatabai's Persian heritage and so she could not resist to cover the eponymous song of the British band "A Flock of Seagulls" in Persian. Conclusion: This record is again very personal and the actress remains true to her melancholy style. Exactly the right thing for dreary autumn days when we can escape everyday life for a while together with the sounds of "I ran".

Dashboard Confessional - "Dusk and Summer"

© Universal

Dashboard Confessional mastermind Chris Carrabba was in the music business long before his time with the band, but it was the use of his songs in the series "Malcom in the Middle" and American advertising that gave the man from Florida a serious ear. The last work "A Mark, A Mission, A Brand, A Scar" spread like wildfire and settled in players and auditory canals of rock pop fans. That could work with the new album "Dusk and Summer" as well. Even the current single "Stolen", recorded by Dashboard Confessional with the Hessian band Juli, is beautiful and flows easily. The focus of Carrabba is obviously on rousing melodies that are sometimes supported by driving beats. Heartwarming songs like "So long, so long" or "Dusk and Summer" make the album the perfect feel-good record for a rainy autumn afternoon.

Ben Harper - "Lifeline"

© Virgin

Since 1992, Ben Harper brings out album by album, but only through his collaboration with the occasionally very successful Jack Johnson was the man from California in the limelight. And rightly so. Harper combines folk, blues, soul, R'n'B, funk, gospel, reggae and rock into a unique soundscape that is so relaxed that you can sit back and just enjoy yourself. "In the colors", for example, is unobtrusive, but at the same time so memorable that the track is one of the highlights of the album. Harper and his band can be heard on every track that they play and sing with passion.

Sabrina Setlur - "Red"

© 3P

Wait a minute, is this really Sabrina Setlur, the most successful horse in the 3P stable so far? Actually, it is her! Since when does the lady from Rödelheim rely on electro sounds? Since the new album "Red"! What does not seem to fit together at the first turn turns out to be an extremely danceable development of the rapper who, after ten years in the music business, was urgently needed. The songs of the album sound unused, the rhythms are unfamiliar therefore, only the background voices of 3P-offsprings like Sebastian Hämer or Cassandra Steen are still reminiscent of the nursery by Sabrina Setlur. Apparently she has grown up.
