The Lord of the Rings: This betrays the setting about the possible action

"Welcome to the Second Age" - with these words and a map of Middle-earth Amazon Prime has revealed via Twitter the timing of the highly anticipated "Lord of the Rings" series. At first only a small announcement, but from the first conclusions on the possible action and impossible main characters can be drawn.

Historians of J. R. R. Tolkien's epic know that said second era extended over 3400 years and was, among other things, the time when "the one ring" was forged. With Sauron's defeat against the unified army of humans and elves, which is shown right at the beginning of Peter Jackson's (57) film adaptation, finally ended the second age.

No reunion possible?

But this is also a rumor in the realm of the Middle-earth fables referenced by many fans of the fantasy epic 'had been happy: It circulated the message, the series could revolve around the adventures of young Aragorns, so the history of Viggo Mortensen's (60) role tells. But this figure was born much later in history, in the third age. And all the other characters of the original trilogy seem to be taboo for the series, with one exception: The ancient wizard Gandalf could theoretically be part of the TV adaptation.

Until Amazon abducted into the world of elves, orcs and hobbits, but still a lot of patience is needed. Expensive in-house production is unlikely to be seen until 2021.
