Teacher corrects a student's answer because she is not sexist

Are you crazy? When eight-year-old Yasmin Sutcliffe writes the word "surgeon" in a school test as a term for "woman in hospital," does the teacher pull out the red pencil? and writes "Nurse" next to it.

The task: Find an (English) word with -UR-

This didactic catastrophe took place at Edgbaston High School in Birmingham. The worksheet, which Yasmin and her classmates were to fill out, was about words with the letters "ur-; um English, mind you, since it is a school in England.

In a task, students were given definitions and should include the pertinent words, such as "Day before Sunday, SatURday," "Meat for Christmas, TURKEY," and so on.

In addition to the definition "Hospital lady" Yasmin wrote "sURgeon", which means in English both surgeon and surgeon. Although the teacher did not rule out the solution for the 8-year-olds, she nevertheless wrote the apparently correct answer next to her: "or nURse" - "or a nurse".

The father of the little ones, the just like her mother yourself surgeon is tweeted a photo of the task sheet? By the way, from 1997 (!!!) is? and wrote, inter alia, "#MamiIstChirurgin (just like daddy)".

Twitter users celebrate Yasmin's answer - and teach a lesson to a teacher

His tweet got close to 14,000 Favs, and his daughter was celebrated. "Great reply!" wrote a Userin, "you should have got BONUS points" another.

She should've received BONUS points. What a ridiculous outdated question.

Even a nurse spoke up and showed with his tweet how absurd the mark-up of the teacher was. Because even as a man can be described in English with the job title "nurse"? and he is certainly not a "hospital lady".

"As a registered 'NURSE', I support and support the 'SURGEON' answer, I am a MAN, I belong to the minority."

As a Registered #NURSE, I #approve of, and endorse the? SURgeon? answer.
I'm MALE.
I am a minority. # Stereotypes @ MenInNursing @ AAMN_Nursing
