Steven Spielberg: CBS series "Bull" must renounce him as a producer

The future of "Bull" is secured: The US broadcaster CBS sends the series in a fourth season. But Steven Spielberg (72, "E.T. - The alien") will withdraw according to the US industry journal "Deadline" as a producer of the series.

Spielberg's production company Amblin TV distanced itself from the format, as confirmed by a spokesman for the company "Deadline". However, one reason was not mentioned. Spielberg's withdrawal comes around six months after the negative headlines around series star Michael Weatherly (50, "Navy CIS"). He is said to have sexually harassed a colleague Eliza Dushku (38, "Buffy") on set.

$ 9.5 million in compensation

Dushku and Weatherly co-starred in 2017 for three episodes of season one. According to the New York Times, he commented on Dushku's appearance in front of the cast and the crew, suggested a "threesome" with himself and a co-worker, and fantasized about how he would put them over his knee. Since she had pointed out his misconduct, her character should then have been written from the series.

Dushku received compensation of $ 9.5 million (equivalent to $ 8.4 million) from CBS. Weatherly also apologized in the New York Times. He wanted to joke about a few lines of the script and was ashamed that he had insulted his colleague with it. The actor embodies in the series Dr. Jason Bull, who supports lawyer strategy in jury processes with his firm.
