So you're never back on time!

Actually, we are very conscientious people: we do not leave the apartment without having made our bed first. We always diligently work our to-do lists and always do our best to meet deadlines. We also try to consistently go to the sport. Everything was great, if not the keyword punctuality. As far as that goes, many of us still have room for improvement. Our family and friends know this and do not fail to rub it under our nose. Then we have to listen to phrases like "I was counting on you to be late and therefore called you earlier for our meeting than actually needed". That's nice, but at such moments we feel a certain disappointment. This should be over now. Yes, we are putting an end to our punctuality!

But how do we do that as fast as possible? Here are the five tips that make us a punctual person:

1. Admit the problem

The first step to recovery lies in self-knowledge. We should acknowledge that punctuality is a real problem and puts us in situations that do us no good. We are rushing, getting nervous, feeling guilty and in a bad mood. And all because our time management simply does not work as we would like it to.

2. Question the reason

The reasons for being unpunctual are varied, but it is important to recognize them. Often we catch ourselves doing a lot of things, although we know that they will put us in temporary trouble. Quickly just clear the dishwasher and pour the flowers, then choose the outfit, ideally still apply the appropriate nail polish and put up the hair? the first sweat breakout is guaranteed and the nervousness increases, because in five minutes the train will come, which of course we will miss.

3. Set priorities

The solution to the problem is obvious: we should leave everything that makes us unpunctual. Dishwashers and plants will last until tomorrow. Other time wasters, such as the smartphone, are now ignored. Now our appointment is in the foreground. The clock is ticking and the train is not waiting. So should we use our time to get ready in peace? without sweats, without nervous attacks and without a sprint to the train.

4. Develop a realistic sense of time

The first three important steps are done. But we should not stop working on ourselves, realistically thinking about how long we actually need for certain things, and how we can manage to make an appointment even earlier than planned. We should rather take too much time as too little. You never know that the train could be late.

5. Enjoy punctuality

Terrific! The feeling of being the first to come to a meeting place. Ten minutes too early? We are experiencing this for the first time. We are in a good mood and relaxed and now enjoy the time in anticipation of our friends. They will not be surprised.
