Served: Make a placemat yourself

© Julia Hörsch

You need: Cotton fabric (per set 45 x 35 cm plus seam allowance), fish drawings (eg from the book Animals: 1,419 Copyright Free Illustrations of Mammals, Birds, Fish, Insects, Etc, Dover Publications, 23 euros), scissors, sewing machine, a copy shop.

That's how it's done: Cut the fabric very clean and straight with scissors to 45 x 35 cm. Select, print or copy fish motifs and have them printed on the fabric in the Copy Shop. At home, tie the table set with the sewing machine (zigzag stitch), iron from the back, ready.

duration: about 1 hour (without going to the copy shop).

Costs: about 15 euros.
