Rihanna: Superstar is now an ambassador of her home island

Superstar Rihanna (30, "Diamonds") was named "Extraordinary Ambassador" by the government of the island state of Barbados on Thursday (20 September). As further reported by "billborad.com", she should in future take care of the "promotion of education, tourism and investment for the island".

Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley (52) said Barbados was honored to be awarded the title of this outstanding compatriot who has contributed so much to the island's perceptions around the world. "Rihanna has a deep love for this country, and that's reflected in her philanthropy, and especially in health and education." In addition, she shows her patriotism by continuing to value the island as her home, Mottley continues.



RiRi was touched to give something back to her beloved home. "I could not be more proud to wear such a prestigious title of my homeland," she said. "I'm ready and excited to take responsibility," says the artist.

The R & B and pop singer was born in Barbados and is one of the most successful artists in the world. The island is located in the eastern Caribbean and is an independent state within the Commonwealth.
