Reveal secret documents: The Queen was almost shot!

The Queen would not live to the tune today. As only now became known, a mentally ill teenager is said to have tried to shoot the head of the British monarchy. This is reported by the New Zealand news agency 'Stuff', which allegedly holds secret documents confirming the crime and which have been kept under lock and key by the authorities for a long time.

So the act occurred

During a visit to the New Zealand town of Dunedin in October 1981, Christopher Lewis allegedly fired a rifle at Queen Elizabeth. Fortunately, the projectile missed his target, because according to the documents, the then 17-year-old should have possessed a weapon that was completely unsuitable for the distance.

The act should be hushed up

3,500 people had come to cheer for the Queen and many are said to have heard the shot. However, the British press at the time was probably told that the bang was a fallen sign. Later it was said that someone had detonated a fireworks gun. At least, according to SpoOn News, detective Tom Lewis. He also claims to know that the case was hushed up because the then prime minister allegedly feared that no royal would come to New Zealand if the case became known.

Lewis took his own life 16 years later

Christopher Lewis was arrested after that, but never charged and later released. He should also have confessed to a hearing, to belong to a right-wing extremist association. Several years later, Lewis was arrested again for other crimes. While awaiting trial for murdering a mother and abducting her child, he is believed to have committed suicide in prison in 1997.

By the way, this is not the first time that the Queen barely escaped death. She was almost shot dead by one of her bodyguards.
