New egg recall: After Fipronil now also salmonella

There are no good times for egg lovers: For weeks, the food industry has been dominated by the fipronil scandal - ten million eggs from the Netherlands had to be disposed of because they were contaminated with insecticides. And in certain quantities, this agent is harmful to health.

Now follows a new recall of the company Axvitalis, reported food alert.de! Because of the suspicion of Salmonella, the Regensburger company pulled eggs from land keeping in four federal states from the market. Affected are eggs with the number 2-DE-0358851 and a best before date from 4 to 16 August 2017. Caution is especially in Bavaria, Baden-Württemberg, Thuringia and Hesse commanded.



Consumers who have bought eggs with this stamp will be asked to return them at the points of sale. In the worst case, eating could cause nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. Salmonella can also cause fever and painful defecation and abdominal cramps.
